Last (las, lasta, lastik) is a piece of wooden kitchen utensils, which is like a spoon or spatula. In Nizhnepechorye Last was used to remove dough from a barrel or as a slotted spoon for removing fish and meat from broth.
A wooden last from the collection of the State Budgetary Institution of Culture “Museum Association of the NAD” was used in Pustozersk and belonged to its last resident - Kozhevina Agrafena Andronovna. The flat blade of the last is connected almost perpendicularly to the handle. There is a cruciform hole for the broth drainage in the middle of the blade. Most often, such wooden utensils were taken for fishing or haymaking because they were light and convenient to use.
